Claire: Hillcrest Field Trip

Claire's Kindergarten class headed out to Reedley to visit the Hillcrest Pumpkin Patch.  I like Hillcrest because of all they have to offer (fun scenery, hay rides, and of course pumpkins)... I feel it is a great place for a field trip. It isn't as busy as the weekends and they have a variety of activities specifically for the kids.

Up first (after the bus ride) the kids file into an amphitheater and hear a story about a rabbit who learns that he likes pumpkins, not just carrots.  The lady that tells the story does a great job getting the kids involved and explaining the process of growing a pumpkin.

Next is a mini-hike across a rickety bridge... fun for some, not so much fun for others.  ;-)

Next up is a little hay ride. 

And then through a mini-cornfield maze to get to an area to pick out a pumpkin. 

And of course the class pic with all their pumpkins!
