Premiere Bridal Fashion Show | Gaga Chic

This was a fun event for the girls and a few of their friends...

Actually, Claire was the one asked by a local children's boutique, Gaga Chic, to participate in the Premiere Bridal fashion show featuring their clothing.  Once we went in for our fitting, Hannah was also given the opportunity to be involved in the day! The event was held at the Convention Center and there were several hundred people watching each of two shows that day!

Both of their dresses were beautiful ivory gowns and they had their hair done to include some vintage hair pieces... so fun!

I personally LOVED Claire's hairpiece... so pretty!
Claire, doing a 'pose' on the runway... yes it is her...even if you can barely see her, lol
And Hannah is doing a twirl here, again barely visible, but she is doing a great job!

Who knows if they will ever have this opportunity again, but they had a blast getting all dressed up for a fun Fashion Show!!

Yosemite: Part Seven (& and last) - {iPhone style}

Well, here we (finally!) are.  The last of the Yosemite posts.  It was just too hard for me to choose just a few photos to post, so you got most of them :-)

John was having fun with the various apps he has on his iPhone, I think he had as many photos as I did.

It was a fun and beautiful day in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and it is less than an hour from our house.  Why haven't we gone more often?

We will, but next time I won't make you sit through a full seven days worth of posts ;-)

Eventually...

Well, I will soon be posting the story of our day in Yosemite, but until then here are another few from John's phone from the day...

Do your kids growl?

I know that's an odd question... but my kids totally do.  Here is a photo John caught of a 'happy-ish' growl.  I think they are usually trying to be funny, but I think it is so strange to just growl.

I know, I know... add it to the long list of strange things kids do. :-)

Swimming Photos from John's Phone

It's no secret that John and I LOVE the Hipstamatic app on the iPhone, but John has taken it a step further and gotten some new lenses and such and I am in LOVE with the photos he has gotten recently when tinkering around with his phone.

Here are a few from one of Hannah's swim meets....

Di-'spectacle' Me

Claire has been wearing these glasses all day, from her Halloween costume, and calling them her 'spectacles'.

"I can't see, I better put on my spectacles."

So, when we headed to grab a movie from the Redbox tonight and Hannah chose Despicable Me, there was an obvious confusion.

Despicable became Di-SPECTACLE Me.

I didn't want to correct her.

Hipstamatics from John's Phone

I had to upload something from John's phone recently and finally uploaded a bunch of his photos along with it.  Here are a few of my favorite Hipstamatic (iPhone app that makes the photos look old) shots.
He has gotten to do way more fun stuff than me this year ;-)

Channeling the 60's

I have other photos that I am sure will eventually make it onto the blog, however I don't have them uploaded yet.  Tonight we went to a friend's 30th Birthday party... Elvis Style..

I had NO IDEA what to wear, and was getting a little stressed out thinking I should have bought something on eBay weeks ago.  Old stand-by Target came through for me though with the dress, scarf, and some shoes.  Add a little flip hairdo and my trusty Big White Glasses and we were good to go.  John said I reminded him of 'Mad Men'... love it!

I want to highlight John's look in another post when I have a better photo of just him, but he was "Elvi"... not "Elvis".  ;-)

We had so much fun!

Have I mentioned that I LOVE the hipstamatic iPhone app?  'Cause I do!

Disneyland: Part five - Hipstamatic Style!

So, I thought I was done after the last post, but I remembered I had these photos on my iPhone and since I have freshly uploaded my iPhone photos...

I have a love and appreciation for the 'hipstamatic' app available on the iPhone.  It gives you a few options with lenses and stuff, but basically the idea is that you are taking photos with an old hipstamatic camera.  The way the colors and light hit your subject can produce some pretty wacky results, and I am never quite sure exactly how the photos will turn out.  It reminds me of poloriod-style photos.  The idea, for me, IS that it looks old.  As if we are taking the photo IN the 70's or 80's :)

Yummy, Mickey treats.

The castle at night... obviously blurry, but I still love it :)
