Eclipse Night!

Like so many others right now, I have developed an obsession appreciation for all things Twilight.  My sister and forever friend, Alice have the same feelings.  Well, if possible, they might even be more obsessed crazy about it than I am...

My sister found us some fan-tab-ulous shirts and we bribed asked John if he would take our picture before we headed out for the much anticipated Eclipse event.  

I am sure I will look back on the whole Twilight thing as a fad. 

But for now, it is so much fun. 

I kind of want to reread the books.  Although I think John might disown me if I decided to read all 2,500 pages in one week like I did the first time. :)

Anyone doing Redbox?

I am sure you have seen these movie rental kiosks in grocery stores, WalMart, etc. Well, their thing is that you can rent movies for $1 for one day. They are due the next day, or it is $1 for each day late. You have to run a credit/debit card to pay so they can charge you if you are late.

The other catch is that they have a smaller selection of movies, but many are newer releases.

Here's the good part. They offer many promotions for free movie rentals! If you click here and give them you cell phone number or email address, they will send you codes periodically for free movies. I think they usually have free movie Mondays! If you give them a cell number, they will text you the code. You enter the code at the kiosk, and voila! Free movie! (Just remember to return it the following day... to ANY redbox location,)

I know that many people don't like to sign up for things via cell phone or email, but so far I am impressed, and who doesn't love a free movie?

Double date!

This afternoon we were able to see a movie and then have dinner with some wonderful friends. Somehow we managed to find sitters and get away as adults! We saw the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight. If you are a Batman fan at all you should try to see it in the theater... it was intense but good. Not at all a kids movie. Then we headed out for some Cheesecake Factory! Thanks Brooke and Matt for a fun evening of adult conversation. We think the last time we were together without kids was almost two years ago... wow!

Some stuff

Yes, I know by admitting this, you are all going to think we are strange. But, John and I LOVE the Golden Girls. We watch the re-runs regularly as there is usually nothing worth watching on current TV. Anyhoo... we were so sad to learn that Estelle Getty, who played Sophia, died the other day.

In money saving news... Walgreens diapers are on MAJOR sale again. The jumbo packs are on sale for 5.99, then there is a coupon in the EasySaver booklet (found in the front of the store, you only need ONE coupon) for 2.50 off each pack. When you buy 3 you will also receive a coupon for 5.00 off your next purchase. It works out to 10.97 +tax out of pocket, then a 5.00 coupon, so about 2.00 for each pack of diapers.

I have used these diapers for a few days now. I really like them, and I am fairly picky on diapers.

And finally, John and I watched this movie last night. I really enjoyed it, and I think John did too. Yes, it's a chick flick, but I think I would like to own it someday. Not as predictable of a movie as you might think, and not as big of a chick flick as you might think. Rent it.

We actually saw a movie IN the theater.

And yes,

It has been OVER a YEAR since this happened last. (I was in fact counting contractions at the last movie we saw, which was Ocean's 13 by the way)

I am praying that it can happen again before next summer.

While I am not exactly your die-hard Indy fan, I can appreciate an action flick. A little over-the-top with the special effects and the story was strange, but entertaining never the less.
