Storyland and Playland with Friends

Storyland and Playland are a few of the older attractions here in Fresno.  I remember Storyland from when I was a kid.  The girls and I went with our friends Kelly, Justus, and Haven in July while we were still having the abnormally mild weather.  We pulled up to the park on (of course) the day that there were police cars EVERYWHERE.  I guess there had been gun shots fired nearby much earlier in the morning and they had to check all over the park to make sure it was safe.  No, this isn't an area of town you might want to go into at night :-) All was deemed safe. 

First up was Playland where the kids rode each of the rides at least once.  Here are Hannah and Justus on the roller coaster...

 Then us Mommies got a work out taking each child out on the paddle boats...

Next came a picnic lunch and then Storyland... which is when it started to get warm.  The kids were good sports and checked out most of the park and played on the play equipment.

We always have a fun time with this sweet family!  I just wish we could have done more little outings like this over the summer.
