Yosemite with the Addington's... part one, Happy Isles

Sometime last month, Alice came up with the idea of taking a few little day trips before the kids started back to school again.  We wanted to come up with a few things to do that were fairly inexpensive, could be done in one day to avoid hotels, and would be fun/educational for the kids.

Since we purchased a Yosemite pass earlier, we felt that it was a perfect option for our first little adventure.

We headed out with a picnic lunch, snacks and our hiking shoes.

When we arrived, we knew we wanted to get to the valley floor.  This was the area that we were stuck in traffic in on our last little trip, and we wanted to see what all we could see in the area.  Our first stop took us to the Happy Isles walking trail.  This trail was kid-friendly, short, and even included a nature center to break up all the walking.  If you have kids and are heading to Yosemite, look for this trail... Claire at four was very able to do this.
