When you are on the swim team, the goal is to get a fast enough time in any given event in one of the six meets to qualify for Time Trials. Basically, there are 24 teams throughout the Central Valley that compete and they have three different Time Trials with 8 teams each. The top 24 times in each event then move forward to Finals.
Hannah qualified for Time Trials this year in Backstroke and as a member of the Freestyle Relay!
It was quite the production. Eight different swim clubs came together in Selma very early one Saturday in July. Here they are getting ready for their relay.
...And then you wait. Thankfully, Hannah's events were some of the eariler ones so we didn't have to wait too long.
Hannah was most likely playing Angry Birds on my phone. Next to her is Grant, he is very much like her older Brother.
I had never noticed before, but they have very similar eye color...
And then waiting for her next event, backstroke.
Her relay team did qualify for Finals! (More in another post) Unfortunately backstroke was a different story... but there's always next year :-)
