Tahoe is a family tradition that dates back well before I was born. My Grandma and Dad have an old cabin that they like to try to spend some time at a few weeks durring the summer.
This year, the whole family was able to go... and by whole, I mean us, my sister and Brian, my Mom, Dad, and Grandma! (No, we all couldn't sleep at the cabin)
I think it was the first day of our trip, we decided to find a trail and soak in a little nature. We drove for awhile to a place we *thought* would be good, but it ended up being closed. Other places had parking lots filled with cars. We finally turned into a very random campground area and asked if there was any place to hike/walk in the area...there was one just a ways back into the grounds... and so we found the Rubicon Trail.
It was nothing crazy difficult, a decent hike for a family with kids... however it was basically on the side of a mountain with some very daunting cliffs over the side. Beautiful, yet a slight sense of danger.
Apparently, we were hiking to this hut-like lookout point, and then we were to head back. I am sure there was some history there, but I totally forget why it was there.
Taking a water break. Doesn't my hubby look so thrilled that I am documenting the event? ;-)
Fun adventures in Tahoe!
