Mother's Day {part one}

When I was a kid, I always felt that my personal homemade Mother's Day gifts were kind of silly.

I mean really?  Was my Mom happy to have a macaroni necklace, a picture I drew, or a little poem I made up and misspelled?  I always thought she should have a "real" gift... like jewelery, perfume, or something of the like.

Now that I am a Mom, I get it.  I get that the REAL best gifts are from the heart and are given with love.

I absolutely LOVE the homemade cards and goodies.  I love anything with a handprint.  I love the looks on the girl's faces when they are excited to give the gift that THEY helped create.  The years that they will make me gifts are so few, I am trying hard to cherish every moment.

This year I was spoiled...

Claire's preschool class made a sweet little picture using their fingerprints.  Attached was this poem:

      My dirty little fingerprints I've left on every wall
      And on the drawers and tabletops, I've really marked them all
      But here are some that won't rub off, I'm giving them to you
      Because I'm thankful to have a mom that's just like you!

Hannah's class made handprints on tiles, and their cards were so cute...
Dear Momy,  I love you more than lolypops. Happy mothers day Love, Hannah :-)

More Mother's Day fun to come....
