Lessons learned.

What a week so far... and it's Tuesday.

We have been having a bit of a bug problem, which has led me to accept a few harsh realities.
  • Stockpiling is super-wonderful-fantastic in so very many ways, however you have to be careful with what and how you are storing your stockpile.
  • ALL grians NEED to be kept in plastic.  period.  double period.  no exceptions.  none.  seriously.
  • I am talking about nasty weevils. EEEWWWWW!!!  Grossssss!  At this point I wish it were ants.
  • Even a strict NO EXPIRED food policy can't keep certain things from happening.  Cardboard is bad.  Take your food out of the cardboard and store it in plastic.
  • Even as sad as it was to throw so much stuff out, in a way it is a little freeing to start from scratch.  Yes, I just said that.  I need to be more careful about what I bring into the house.  Even free food can be a liability.
And to pile on... the freezer was left open.  Sheer accident.  Get a Freezer Alarm.  That's all.

Needless to say, we are starting from scratch in the food department. Boo.

It's okay, I was getting a little burned out on your cereal selection. Can't wait to see what you come up with this time around!
