I am so excited! I was asked to be a featured blogger for iLoveToCreate, which is a division of Duncan Enterprises located right here in Fresno. Basically, I am going to be sharing some of the projects I complete using iLoveToCreate products. (You might recognize such brand names as 'Tulip' fabric paints or 'Aleene's' brand adhesives.) My goal is to do a variety of projects, but to focus on projects the kids can be involved with.
I received a box of goodies to get me started, and one of the items that caught my eye was the Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond. I wanted to do a quick and simple project to get the kids involved, but also try out this new-to-me product. I grabbed a few small tote bags I had on hand and a few other crafty supplies:
I removed the stencil from the backing and stuck it down on the fabric.
Hannah and Claire used a cosmetic sponge to dab on the Glitter Bond.
They chose their glitter color and shook it all over the area.
Shook off the excess and removed the stencil...
...and voila! Cute, glittery, and puffy-painted bags to store their treasures!
I have to say that I am pretty impressed by the glitter bond. It says on the packaging that it is "washable and dries flexable" which is very nice when working with fabric. While this was a super simple project, I was excited to get the girls involved and look forward to more projects that they can help create. One thing I have to remind myself when doing projects with the girls is that it doesn't have to be 'perfect'. It is all about creativity and learning how to use different mediums.
Stay tuned for our next project!!!
