When John and I set our wedding date, we tried to think of a time of year that meant something to us. We met in March, but I was due to be in my final semester of school then and a March wedding was a no-go.
We 'technically' started being a couple in June and had always counted our anniversary as June 14th, which was a Monday in 2004. Again, a no-go. The following Saturday would have to do, and was set. We had been dating five years when we got married those six years ago. I love that those two anniversaries fall in the same week.
Anyhow, we are fortunate enough to have friends and family that love our kids so much that they took them for an entire weekend while we snuck away to Morro Bay for our anniversary. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend of walk-hiking in Montana de Oro state park, eating at restaurants that were no where near kid-friendly, and enjoying some antique shopping. [Yes, we are old people, and proud of it!]
I found a little point and shoot digital camera a year or more ago as part of one of my uber-fabulous coupon deals for $16. I had used it once, and felt a trip without my big camera(s) was necessary. I wanted to focus on 'us' time.
On our hike (read: walk) in Montana de Oro. Notice how far below us the ocean is... beautiful cliffs!
Found about 10 of these guys in the tidepools! Very cool, plus there were shells everywhere! Don't look at the date on the photo. I hadn't set that yet...
Beautiful view to the east. Wildflowers for days.
And to the west, beautiful ocean.
Dinner at Dorn's in Morro Bay, just a short walk from tne Inn where we stayed.
The rock at sunset. So peaceful.
Love you babe! Happy 6th!!!
