Tahoe/ Idaho part three: The Day of the Drive

So this was the day I had been dreading since we decided to drive this trip. The eight hour drive though nothingness. I am talking 430 miles of very desolate Nevada and Oregon country.
The POA (that is Whitney-speak for plan of action) was to get up early and on the road. Once we got to Carson City we would fuel up on Starbucks, get Hannah a movie and pray that Claire slept. All worked like a charm. We left the cabin at 5:49am!
Secondly, when we got to Winnemucca (that was the biggest town on the drive, 3+ hours away from Tahoe) we needed the kiddos to literally RUN around. And, the only place we found to do that was WalMart. We stopped (9:30am), got gas and snacks, and got Hannah a new Backyardigans video. (Back on the road 10:30am)
No other stops were made until we got to Nampa, ID at 2:00pm. We couldn't have stopped anyway, there was NO WHERE to stop. Had we known we were less than 30 minutes away from our destination, we might have kept going even then. Quick McDonalds lunch and back on the road and into Boise at 3:30!
The day I had feared went so well. Claire and Hannah were such great sports and napped beautifully!
