Halloween Costumes 2012

This year, I decided early that I would be less crazy about Halloween costumes.  By that, I mean I wasn't going to go out of my way to attempt to sew something, coordinate the girls with each other, or convince them to be anything they weren't excited about.  I guess the days of Mommy's choice are pretty much over when it comes to costumes... although next year I hope they will at least coordinate a little. ;-)

Hannah had said she wanted to be a fairy.  Easy enough, I thought... not so much.  She wanted to have a specific look, not too cutesy, and not too adult.  Etsy wasn't our friend in the search, such a bummer... so I ended up taking them to the costume store and letting them pick.

To my surprise, Hannah chose Dorothy.  My guess is because of the Toto dog in the basket, but nevertheless she was excited!  After a quick trip to Target for some Ruby slippers, she was good to go... easy-peasy!

Claire wanted to be EVERYTHING.  We had even bought a Bee costume, and she decided against it after seeing a wall of butterfly wings at the costume store.  She chose blue wings, then everything else was an easy choice.  Target again came to the rescue with a pair of blue shoes... perfect!

Thank you beautiful fall heat wave for allowing us to go out on October 27th and take photos wearing short sleeves!  I think it was high 70's!!
