Attack of the Easy Bake Oven

My poor girl would be mortified if she knew I posted about this, but I think of it as a learning experience and wanted to share...

Hannah got an Easy Bake Oven for her birthday and yesterday morning we opened it up.  I was in the process of reading the directions and opening the smaller parts when I hear a very concerned voice say...

"my FINGER's STUCK!!"

Me: What?

Han: Mom, I can't get it out!  Help... {she was starting to head in the direction of hysterical at this point.}

For the next five minutes... yes, it took that long... I tried unscrewing the back (no it wasn't hot), I tried pulling on her finger, I tried pushing different parts in different ways...

She asked if we could call someone for help, the ambulance?  Head to the emergency room?

Still I was having no luck removing the finger from the oven.

Finally, I took the screwdriver and pushed right next to her finger and she was able to pull it out freely, whew!

Then, my little overly- sensitive and responsibly-minded daughter told me that "It was ALL my (meaning her) fault." and that "I will NEVER be curious again!".

It was hard to stifle the giggle, but I WAS concerned about the finger, which turned out to be fine.

Then she told me that she didn't want to play Easy Bake for a few days.

I didn't blame her.

You're very good at describing a story Whit-poor thing! I don't blame her either!
