Back in 2008, I posted a blurb about John planting some citrus trees. We had just moved back to Clovis and we had the earliest visions of growing our own fruits and veggies.
Fast forward a few {okay THREE} years, and we have a crop-o-plenty. Mostly the limes. We have probibly gotten nearly 100 from our little dwarf tree and we are taking full advantage. We have frozen the juice in ice cube trays, made lime chicken, simple lime syrup to add to various recipes, and are still looking for more unique ideas.
We had been told that the fruit can stay on the tree for months, however every time it rains they fall off the tree. This happened a few weeks ago and I tried my hand at taking some still-life photos.
Yes, they are limes. And, yes, they look like lemons. I guess it is just the variety of lime.
