Bernie: Part III

I know you are all riveted by our little elf this year, but unfortunately I was terrible at remembering to take photos of all Bernie did for the girls.  I will say it was so fun for them, and I loved the idea because it could be customized to fit our family. Next year I am going to be sure our elf does a bit more to enforce the meaning of Christmas, but we did have the opportunity to chat about gifts and what we are celebrating multiple times so I was happy with how the first year of Bernie turned out.

Here is a list of everything from this year:
  1.  Introduction and request to decorate the tree. (ornaments)
  2. More introduction and laying out ground rules. (hats)
  3. Called to ask us to make cookies and leave him some. (family activity)
  4. Left stocking stuffers, requested letters to Santa (hello kitty notebooks)
  5. Left hot chocolate and marshmallows (family activity)
  6. Left clues for the girls to find Christmas socks (socks)
  7. Told the girls to call their Auntie to wish her a happy birthday, make sure all the countdown (advent)calendars were current in our house, and draw a picture of what they thought he looked like (activity)
  8. Left a Target gift card for $5 so they could go pick out something special as a Thank You for their drawings (Target GC)
  9. Left a box of Christmas colored fruit snacks (food)
  10. Left a family game for us to play (family activity)
  11. Asked us to read the Nativity story (our book has cardboard cut-outs) and set up the Nativity scene from the book. (family activity)
  12. Last day - brought some ($2) Barbies and a stuffed elf.  (gifts)
Bernie's last gift for the year...
