Book Review: The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby

I have become a BIG fan of the library. A few weeks ago I went to the Clovis branch and updated my library card. Then I realized that I could go online and request books! So, even if the branch you go to doesn't have the book you are looking for, they will find it and call you when it gets to their branch... pretty cool! I went in yesterday and picked up 11 books I had requested. Most of which were for Hannah.

I am really enjoying Scott Kelby's tips and tricks in The Digital Photography Book. I am already halfway through and feel like I have learned a lot. It is a good book for the advanced beginner. Not really a 'how to use your digital SLR' but more of a 'how to shoot better pictures using the digital SLR'. I think this would be an excellent reference book to have on hand, and will most likely buy it or trade for it at Paperback Swap. I especially appreciate the straight forward tips as opposed to the 15 page explanation of why we are doing something a certain way. Since I just did an online class on the technical stuff regarding my camera, it is a good change of pace to get into some of the more fun aspects of photography.
